We're already halfway through the year! I hope everyone had a wonderful break. We're already hard at work in the classroom again!
There are several exciting things happening at Lakeview soon! Report cards for the 2nd nine-week grading period will be sent home this afternoon. After looking at your student's hard work, please sign the envelope and return it to school by Friday, January 15th. Literacy Night is January 21st from 6:00-7:30. Come learn all about what literacy looks like at Lakeview. There will be door prizes and activities! Mrs. Rickerby ([email protected]) has more information. 4th graders will begin to learn to play the recorder in Music soon! Students need to bring $5 so Mrs. Antelept can order a recorder for them. These recorders will be theirs to keep. If an older sibling has their recorder, your student may bring that one to use. Money is due by Wednesday, January 13th. YMCA Energize will be back on Thursday, January 14th. Please make sure your student wears tennis shoes since they always have us moving! Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday, Janurary 18th and there is no school on that day. The city of Bloomington is having a Black History Month essay contest. 4th graders may compete in the 4th-6th grade section of the contest. Prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place essays in each section. Participating is completely optional. Interested students will be bringing a flyer home with more information. We are getting back into the swing of things and everyone is off to a great start in 2016! |
