hI hope everyone had the chance to enjoy our unbelievably beautiful weekend! It's nice to have weather like that follow a snow day start to the week!
This week we will continue to sneak in some ISTEP practice so students are ready for next week. 4th graders will take ISTEP on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We'd love donations of snacks like mints, pretzels, or granola bars to keep us fueled. Thank you for your support! I've been reminding students that ISTEP shouldn't be a big worry for them, but if you feel like your student is overly concerned about the upcoming test please let me know so I can try to alleviate some of the worry. :) Friday, February 26th is Popcorn Day. Please send your student with money if you'd like them to buy popcorn. Be sure to check out the calendar page for upcoming dates like Spring Break and field trips! Happy snow day! I hope everyone is cozy and enjoying their day off.
We had a great Valentine's Day celebration on Friday afternoon. Thank you to everyone who provided snacks and supplies. The kiddos really enjoyed ending the week with treats! 4th graders have begun using their recorders regularly in music class. This means they need to bring their recorders to school on Mondays and Fridays when we visit Mrs. Antelept. Thank you for helping your student remember to bring it! In the next few weeks we will make a few little changes to our schedule in order to prepare for our first section of ISTEP at the end of the month. Students will take the Applied Skills section of the test which is taken via paper and pencil over 3-4 short sessions. 4th graders take other sections of ISTEP online later in the Spring. There will be information coming home about providing snacks and supplies to help our students focus during testing. Thank you ahead of time for being such wonderful, supportive families during our testing periods. Book report presentations will begin Monday, March 7th. Please help your student work on their presentation so that it is ready to go during that week. I'm so excited to learn from them about their non-fiction topics! Remember to keep checking in with your student about their assignment sheet. The assignment sheet has the homework for each week along (math practice and independent reading) with any upcoming events and the Reading and Math skills for the week. Thanks again for being great families. Your students are working hard everyday! |
