Hello families!
We made it through the first round of ISTEP! These kiddos worked so hard. I was thrilled to see students applying the skills we've practiced all year on the tests this past week. I'm so proud of all of them! Our second round of ISTEP will be in April. I'll give you more information when I have it. Thank you so much to the families who donated snacks to our class. It was great to have mints and chocolate to keep brains moving and fun snacks after the tests to refuel.
Book reports are due on Monday! I'm looking forward to learning a lot this week from the variety of non-fiction reports! Please remind your student to bring their report and their book (if possible) with them on Monday.
Report cards for the 3rd nine weeks will be sent home on Friday. You’ll notice a few skills on our report cards this round that have the * indicating “on-level” even if your student has not yet scored a 3 for that skill. That's because we have some skills still in progress in the classroom. We've done an assessment to see where we are as a class, but we're not done working on skills like adding and subtracting fractions and division. As always, let me know if you have any questions.
Please check out the calendar section of this page. 4th graders have FOUR field trips coming up in the next couple of months. Thank you to families who have already volunteered to go with us. We’ll be getting you specific details soon.
Please have students bring their recorders on Monday for Music class. They're getting very good at reading music and playing their instruments!
Spring break begins March 14th! Enjoy the break. The school year is flying by. We've only got a couple months left when we come back!
